St Vincent de Paul is a Catholic organization that provides emergency support to community members. They can help with paying for oil in the winter. Call for help.

The Heating Assistance Rebate Program (HARP) helps low-and-middle income Nova Scotians with the cost of home heating. The rebate is $600.
💰To qualify you must fall into one of these categories:
You must pay for your own heat
You must have your SIN number
📅 HARP is available November to March.

The Antigonish Fuel Fund can help if you are having a hard time paying for heat energy costs.

The Salvation Army HEAT Fund can help if you are going to be our of fuel or have received a notice that your electricity will be shut off.
💰You must be low income for this program, defined as:
$29,000 for one-person households,
$47,703 for two to four person households, and
$67,937 for households of five or more individuals.
You must be low income and provide recent bank statements or pay stubs. You must also send in your most recent heating bill.
📅The HEAT Fund is available November to April.

They will cash your cheques and make sure all your bills are paid. Then they give you your remaining money and help you plan your spending.
